Podiatry & Chiropody
Your feet play an important role in how your body functions, so it’s important to keep them healthy and in good shape. Our Podiatrists/Chiropodists are healthcare professionals specialised in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the feet and lower limbs.
We know it’s not always easy to take care of your own feet and it’s even harder to spot any foot conditions that might be arising.
Whether it’s cutting your toenails, getting rid of your hard skin, or removing any corns and calluses, our Podiatry team is here to help.

While you may think chiropodists and podiatrists are different, they are actually the same thing, with the terms being used interchangeably. Both are healthcare professionals who specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of foot problems and conditions.
In the past, chiropodists primarily focused on treating skin and nail conditions of the feet, while podiatrists had a broader scope of practice that included biomechanics and orthotics. However, in recent years, the terms have become more synonymous, and both chiropodists and podiatrists now offer a wide range of foot care services.
We recommend booking an appointment if you are experiencing any foot pain, discomfort, or changes in the appearance of your feet. Our podiatrists can help diagnose the underlying cause of your symptoms and provide appropriate foot care treatment.
Just like you visit your dentist for regular check-ups, seeing a Podiatrist on a regular basis can help prevent and detect any foot conditions before they become more serious. Some patients choose to come every 6-8 weeks, others may only visit once a year.
We recommend you see a Podiatrist/Chiropodist at least once a year for a routine check-up. Or as soon as possible if you have a specific foot condition that needs attention. Your Podiatrist will be able to advise you on how often you should come in based on your needs.
When you visit our podiatrists for the first time, they will conduct a thorough examination of your feet to diagnose any issues or conditions you may have. They will take the time to listen to your concerns and provide you with a clear diagnosis, so you know exactly what is going on with your feet.
Depending on the results of the examination, they may recommend a treatment plan or further testing to determine the best course of action for your specific needs.
Our appointments start at:
If your Podiatrist/Chiropodist determines that your toe can be treated non-surgically, they will trim the nail or remove the spike to prevent ingrowing. If conservative treatment is not an option or if the condition recurs, a minor surgical procedure may be necessary.
Booking an appointment with our Podiatry team is easy. You can book online through our website or call our Patient Services team on 01380 730473 to schedule your first appointment. We offer evening and weekend appointments for your convenience.
