Recovery time varies from person to person and depends on several factors, including the nature of your injury or condition, how long it has been present, and your individual goals.
At your first appointment, your physiotherapist will carry out a thorough assessment and talk you through what recovery is likely to look like for you. This includes expected timeframes, what progress normally feels like, and how we will measure improvement along the way.
Our focus is always on helping you recover as efficiently and safely as possible, while building long-term resilience rather than short-term fixes.
No, you don’t need a GP referral to book physiotherapy with us. You can book directly at a time that suits you.
If your GP or consultant has referred you, or if you have relevant scans or reports, you’re very welcome to bring these along, but they’re not required to get started.
Some medical insurance providers do cover physiotherapy, but this depends on both your individual policy and whether we work with your chosen insurer.
If you’re planning to use insurance, we recommend contacting our reception team before booking so we can confirm whether we are able to work with your provider and advise on any authorisation requirements.
If your treatment is not covered, you’re very welcome to self-pay, and we can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurer if appropriate.
Your first appointment is all about understanding you, your body, and what you want to achieve.
Your physiotherapist will take time to listen to your story, assess how you move, and identify the root cause of your symptoms — not just where the pain is. You’ll be given a clear explanation of what’s going on, along with a personalised treatment plan.
Treatment often starts in the first session and may include hands-on therapy, guided exercises specific to your symptoms, and practical advice you can use straight away. You’ll leave knowing what the next steps are and feeling confident about your plan.
At Hatt Clinic, both Physiotherapy and Sports Therapy appointments are delivered by highly trained clinicians who assess, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions.
This means you’ll receive the same high standard of assessment and care, whether your issue is related to sport, work, everyday life, or a long-standing problem.
If you’re unsure which option to book, don’t worry. Our team can guide you to the most appropriate appointment based on your symptoms, activity level, and goals.
That’s a common question. The answer is, you don’t need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.
If you’re unsure whether physiotherapy is the right starting point, our team will be happy to talk things through with you and help guide you to the most suitable service. There’s no obligation to book until you feel comfortable and confident.
The number of sessions will vary depending on your condition, how your body responds to treatment, and what you want to achieve.
Some people notice significant improvement within a few sessions, while others benefit from a longer-term approach that focuses on rebuilding strength, movement, and confidence. Your physiotherapist will discuss this with you after your assessment and review progress regularly, so your plan always feels appropriate and realistic.
Yes, absolutely.
If you’d like to ask a few questions or talk through your situation before booking, our reception team is very happy to help. They can also advise on which service or clinician may be most suitable for you.
We advise you wear loose, comfortable clothing. Depending on the type of treatment you need, you may be asked to remove an item of clothing during your assessment so feel free to bring a pair of shorts with you.
